Mentors

Chris and Rebecca served for 19 years in several contexts within East Africa, North Africa, and Southern Europe. During their first decade of ministry, the Lord was merciful to plant them in East Africa where they taught in a Bible institute mentoring local peoples and newly arrived workers. They also discipled fatherless children and Chris helped train pastors in the surrounding villages. Their growing desire to see churches planted among unreached peoples eventually led them to transition to North Africa. Due to health reasons, the Lord then redirected them to Southern Europe to engage diaspora peoples while partnering with a local church in church planting.

Chris and Rebecca both hold a B.A. in Christian Formation and Ministry from Wheaton College. Chris will also complete his M.Div in 2026 from RTS. Chris and Rebecca serve as mentors at Safir, while also part of a team planting an English-speaking church in the city. They are blessed with 7 children (4 boys, 3 girls). Fun fact: Upon moving to Western Asia their family of 9 drove the nearly 3000 miles from S. Europe across 12 countries with a 3 month old. When not driving, they enjoy planting fruit trees, eating Ethiopian food, tickling their children, and reading in hammocks.
